Thomas Barrie & Co. has been established in Glasgow for over 40 years. We have two partners and employ a further 11 staff serving businesses and private clients in Central Scotland and further afield. We are Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors and have a portfolio which includes private clients, sole traders, partnerships and sizeable owner managed companies. Our services cover not only the full range of compliance requirements for tax and audit, but also support services in areas such as book-keeping and payroll as well as general business advice on planning and finance issues. We are one of only three firms outside the “big four” who audit companies within the top 50 in Scotland and are in a position to look at any audit, irrespective of its size. Our sector experience is wide-ranging but we have a particular track record of working with businesses in the motor trade and licensed trade and advising solicitors and other professional firms, medical, dental and orthodontic practices. We have and continue to invest in state of the art IT that enables us to communicate effectively with our clients wherever they are. We take a pride in the quality of the firm's relationship with and service to its clients. Our motto is "The client comes first". Our staff tend to stay with us, the longest serving member being with us since 1965 with many other members having service well into double figures. This helps to ensure continuity of service. Partner Profiles
Paul Greig Qualified 1971 With the firm since 1966 when joining as an apprentice at the tender age of 17. Became a partner in 1973 and has wide ranging experience in many sectors including, in particular,the motor and licensed premises trades. In the hours that Paul does not work (which are not many as he can be in the office at 6.30 in the mornings) , he likes to keep fit and play an occasional round of golf at Strathaven Golf Club. Gordon Cruickshank Qualified 1979 With the firm since 1976 when joining as a trainee. Became a partner in 1982 and has wide ranging experience in all sectors including the medical , dental and orthodontic fields. Gordon also has a particular interest in information technology. Gordon is a member of Dullatur Golf Club and has recently become involved with the committees there. He likes to play golf as many times as he can get away with.
